Brazil Cerrado

Perfect for drip brewing or espresso, Brazil Cerrado is a perennial favourite for its crowd-pleasing taste notes of toasted walnut and hazelnut, combined with a hint of caramel-y sweetness and rich chocolate.

Grown in the lush, biodiverse Cerrado region in Brazil by thousands of smallholder farmers, this coffee is one of the most cherished crop of the world’s largest exporter coffee. The region is characterised by a mixture of savanna, woodlands, and forests, and rich soil that the natives call “Terra Roxa” (“Red Earth”). Combined with high daytime temperatures and dry region, these growing conditions make the Cerrado ideal for producing coffee at relatively low elevations (around 1,100 meters) compared to other Central and South American coffee.

These unique qualities have led to the Cerrado becoming first region in Brazil to receive protected Designation of Origin status, meaning coffee labelled “Cerrado” must come from Cerrado (similar to the rules protecting Iberian ham or Champagne). For customers who appreciate single origin coffees not only for their unique flavour profile, but for what they represent – ethical, traceable, and the highest quality coffee – the Brazil Cerrado is a singular coffee that will quickly become a staple.
